Sourcefour sponsors the ‘One to Watch’ Award
We’re proud to have sponsored the One to Watch Award at the Northern Lincolnshire Great Big Small Awards, celebrating businesses that are making waves in their early stages and showing real promise for the future.
The awards night brought together some of the region’s most inspiring small businesses, all of them proving that great things really do come in small packages. And we were particularly excited to present the One to Watch Award to a business that’s tackling something genuinely important.
Meet the winner – Tilly’s Tutoring
This year’s One to Watch Award went to Tilly’s Tutoring, and it’s easy to see why they stood out.
Becky spotted something most of us have probably noticed but felt powerless to change – too many students being let down by an education system that can’t always give them the individual support they need.
Rather than accepting this as “just the way things are,” she decided to do something about it.
What started as a passion for teaching and a frustration with seeing potential go to waste has grown into a tutoring service that’s genuinely changing lives.
Tilly’s Tutoring exists to make sure every family can give their children the best possible start, regardless of their circumstances.
That’s the kind of purpose-driven business we love to see.
Why we sponsor awards like this
At Sourcefour, we work with businesses at all stages of their journey. We know that the early days are equal parts exciting and terrifying. You’re building something from scratch, often while juggling a million other responsibilities, and the recognition can feel few and far between.
That’s why we’re passionate about supporting awards that shine a spotlight on businesses like Tilly’s Tutoring. These aren’t just businesses chasing profit (though there’s nothing wrong with profit). These are people who’ve seen a problem, decided to fix it, and are building something that genuinely matters to their community.
The One to Watch Award celebrates exactly that. Businesses in their early stages that are already making an impact and show serious potential for the future. It’s about recognising the graft, the vision, and the determination it takes to get a business off the ground and growing.
What makes a business ‘one to watch’?
Presenting Tilly’s Tutoring with their award, a few things became clear about what sets these businesses apart:
They solve real problems
Tilly’s Tutoring didn’t start because someone thought tutoring might be a nice business idea. It started because Becky saw students struggling and families needing help.
They’re driven by purpose, not just profit
Yes, sustainable businesses need to make money. But the businesses that really stand out are the ones where profit is the fuel, not the destination.
They’re committed to their community
Whether that’s a geographic community or a community of people facing similar challenges, these businesses care about the people they serve.
They’re not afraid to start small
Every business empire started with someone brave enough to take the first step, even when the path ahead wasn’t entirely clear.
Congratulations to all the finalists
While Tilly’s Tutoring took home the trophy, we were genuinely impressed by all the finalists in the One to Watch category. Northern Lincolnshire is clearly home to some brilliant entrepreneurial minds, and we’re excited to see where these businesses go next.
To everyone who entered, made the shortlist, or came along to support: you’re proof that small businesses are the backbone of our economy and our communities. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Here’s to the ones to watch
If you’re reading this and you’re in the early stages of building your own business, take heart from businesses like Tilly’s Tutoring. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be the biggest or the flashiest. You just need to care about what you’re doing and be determined enough to keep going.
We’re proud to support awards that celebrate that kind of determination. And if you’re one to watch, we can’t wait to see what you do next.
Congratulations again to Tilly’s Tutoring on a well-deserved win!
